What's in the Reporting Dashboard?

Learn how to access the Table Needs Reporting Dashboard and navigate to a variety of built in reports.

The Table Needs reporting dashboard gives you a clear picture of how your restaurant is performing — from daily sales totals to individual modifier breakdowns. Watch the walkthrough below, then follow the step-by-step guide underneath.

Open the Reporting Dashboard

  1. From the left side menu, tap Reports.
  2. The reporting dashboard will open, showing your Sales Summary for today by default. Below the summary you'll find an itemized list that you can export anytime.

Change the Date Range

  1. Tap the date range selector at the top of the dashboard.
  2. Choose a preset like This Week, or set a custom range for the exact dates you need.
  3. Tap Done, then Apply Changes.
  4. The dashboard will update to reflect the new time period. For ranges longer than a single day, you'll see additional breakdowns including sales by day, average sales by day of the week, and average sales by hour.

Switch Between Report Types

  1. Use the report selector to switch to a different dashboard. Available reports include:
    • Sales Summary — total sales, itemized breakdown, and trend data for the selected period.
    • Taxes — tax collected, broken down by tax type.
    • Payments — every payment that's come in, with details like order name, order number, employee, tender type, and more.
    • Items — performance data for individual menu items.
    • Orders — a detailed look at each order placed during the selected period.
    • Categories — sales broken down by menu category.
    • Modifiers — how many modifications were made, which items they were applied to, and where they came from.
    • Refunds — all refunds issued, with order and payment details.
    • Voids — voided items and orders, including who voided them.
    • Gift Cards — gift card activity including sales, redemptions, and balances.
    • Discounts — which discounts were applied, how often, and their total value.
    • Tickets — ticket-level detail for each order.
    • Tips — tip amounts collected, broken down by employee.
    • Tenders by Server — payment totals grouped by server.
    • Tender Types — payment totals grouped by method (cash, card, etc.).
    • Cash Drawer Sessions — session-level cash drawer activity including opening and closing totals.
    • Cash Drawer Pay In/Out — individual pay-ins and pay-outs from the cash drawer.
    • Loyalty Program — loyalty point activity including earned, redeemed, and outstanding balances.
  2. After choosing a new report type, tap Apply Changes to load it.

Export Your Data

  1. From any report view, tap Export to download the itemized data. This is helpful for bookkeeping, sharing with your accountant, or digging deeper on your own.

Tips

  • Check the Sales Summary at the end of each day for a quick snapshot of how things went.
  • The Payments report is a great place to start if you need to track down a specific transaction.
  • Use the Modifiers report to spot trends — if customers are consistently adding the same extras, it might be worth making those the default or creating a new menu item around them.
